Drivers in St. Louis and Fort Lauderdale are looking for vehicles that offer the most efficient performance possible, and currently, electric vehicles are the most efficient option on the market. In addition to the environmental benefits of buying an EV, another key perk is that they are significantly easier to maintain than vehicles with an internal combustion engine. This is because they have a simpler design with fewer moving parts.

In our luxury EV maintenance guide, we take a closer look at the recommended luxury electric car maintenance schedule. It’s our goal to make staying on top of luxury EV routine maintenance as convenient as possible.

Luxury Electric Car Maintenance Schedule

As mentioned above, the more streamlined design of an electric car makes it easier to keep up with luxury EV routine maintenance. While the steps listed below are not the complete luxury electric car maintenance schedule, they are important to the overall longevity of your EV.

  • Battery Checks – While the battery is an important component of any vehicle, this is especially true of an EV. This makes battery care even more essential. EV batteries are known for their longevity, but a quick inspection on a regular basis can help prevent small issues from turning into more serious problems.
  • Brake Fluid Replacement – Replacing your brake fluid every 3-5 years is necessary for safe driving anywhere you go. If the brake warning light flashes on your driver information cluster, perform this service even sooner.
  • Coolant System Maintenance – Oftentimes, EVs feature special thermal management or cooling systems. These systems are designed to enhance battery function. Service intervals for these components can vary, so consult your owner’s manual to see when coolant system maintenance is recommended.
  • Tire Rotation – Tire care is also more important with an EV, as their added weight can wear tires down more rapidly. Perform a tire rotation every 5,000 to 10,000 miles.
  • Wheel Alignment – Don’t forget about wheel alignment. This service should be performed every 15,000 miles to ensure you get the most out of your tires.
  • Air Filter Replacement – Your vehicle features an air filter to ensure that your cabin stays free of pollen, road dust, dirt, and other harmful contaminants. Over time, these contaminants build up on the filter, so an air filter replacement is required. Traditional air filters should be replaced every 2-3 years. If you have a specialty air filter, you may not have to replace it for approximately 5 years.
